Making AppointmentsFor appointments with your personal physician, just call your doctor's office. You can also schedule appointments with Group Health doctors online. See below. Use our Provider Directory to find your doctor's phone number. Having your member ID number handy when you call makes the process go a little faster, but if you don't have it we can look it up for you. For immediate health concerns, same-day appointments with your personal physician are normally available. If you haven't chosen a personal physician, use the Provider Directory to find one or call Customer Service for help. Appointments With SpecialistsYou can make appointments directly (without a referral) with most Group Health specialists at Group Health medical centers. Use the Provider Directory to find specialists who meet your needs and who are available for self-referral. Simply call the specialist or schedule online. In most case, you need a referral to see contracted specialists. Self-Referral to Group Health Specialists Online Scheduling With Group Health DoctorsYou can use MyGroupHealth's secure online services to schedule most non-urgent appointments with Group Health doctors. Schedule appointments with primary care doctors, eye care doctors, physical therapists, most specialists, and the Travel Advisory Service. For access to online scheduling, register with MyGroupHealth. Online scheduling is not available for contracted doctors who do not practice at Group Health medical centers. MyGroupHealth for Members Online Services Payment for Services at Your AppointmentIf your health plan requires a copayment for your appointment, you will generally be asked for your copayment at the beginning of a visit. After-Hours CareFor urgent care after business hours, on weekends, or on holidays, call the Consulting Nurse Service. The nurse will direct you to the most appropriate care, which may be one of our urgent care centers.Appointments When You're TravelingNon-urgent appointments. Group Health members traveling outside our service areas can receive routine care from Kaiser Permanente where available. Visit the Kaiser Permanente Web site and select the area where you will be visiting. Students who attend school away from home may also receive care at Kaiser Permanente. Note: Some services at Kaiser Permanente require pre-authorization. Contact Customer Service for information about your coverage at Kaiser. Emergencies and urgent care. Group Health covers medical emergencies worldwide. If you have a medical emergency while traveling, call 911 or the local emergency assistance number immediately. Then within 24 hours or as soon as reasonably possible, call our Emergency Notification Line so we can follow up on your care. If you need urgent care while traveling, call your personal physician during office hours for advice. After hours, call the Consulting Nurse Service. Additional Resources |
