Back to: 2013 Board of Trustees Application Marking its 66th year, Group Health Cooperative is an innovative, consumer-governed, nonprofit health care system that integrates care and coverage. Along with its subsidiary carriers, Group Health Options, Inc. and KPS Health Plans, Group Health works to improve the health of more than 620,000 plan members in Washington and Idaho. Group Health is also one of the state's largest employers, with about 9,500 people employed by Group Health Cooperative and Group Health Physicians (GHP) its contracted, multispecialty group practice. GHP works to provide patient-centered, evidence-based care to members and the broader community through Group Health Medical Centers and a nationally recognized research center. An all-consumer Board of Trustees has set the course since Group Health first began providing health care services in 1947. Serving as a trustee offers a significant opportunity to help transform health care for Group Health's members and the communities it serves.
