Academic Scholarships for
Group Health Members
Group Health Cooperative, in conjunction with the Auxiliary of Group Health and the Group Health Foundation, offers two academic scholarships that are open to Group Health members and their dependents.
Auxiliary of Group Health Cooperative Scholarship
The Auxiliary of Group Health Cooperative will award 10 $1,500 scholarships to students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees. The scholarship may be used for tuition, books, and fees for the 2008-2009 school year. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated financial need.
Eligibility
This scholarship is open to:

Group Health voting members and their dependents
- Group Health staff and their dependents
- Group Health volunteers with 250 hours of documented service
All undergraduate fields of study at accredited institutions are eligible. Graduate programs must be clinically based and health care related.
How to Apply
Follow these steps:

- Submit the application and all documents outlined in the guidelines to Group Health by May 16, 2008.
Bernice Cohen Sachs M.D. Endowed Fund for Women Medical Students
The Bernice Cohen Sachs M.D. Endowed Fund for Women Medical Students will award several scholarships of up to $3,000 each to women enrolled in medical school. The scholarship may be used for tuition, books, and fees for the 2008-2009 school year. Applicants must demonstrate community involvement during undergraduate and/or medical school years.
Eligibility
This scholarship is open to:
- Group Health members
- Group Health members' children and grandchildren
- Group Health staff and their children
Applicants must be women pursuing an M.D. or equivalent degree at an accredited institution.

Follow these steps:
- Read the scholarship guidelines (PDF).
- Complete the Group Health Academic Scholarship Application (Word).
- Submit the application and all documents outlined in the guidelines to Group Health by May 16, 2008.
Omission of any of the above information will eliminate your application from consideration.
A selection committee will determine and notify the Scholarship winners in July 2008.
These scholarships are for tuition, lab fees, and books. In August 2008, checks will be mailed directly to
the recipient's school of choice.
