Health Administrative Fellowship

Group Health is now recruiting for our 2010 post-graduate Administrative Fellowship Program. This fellowship is designed to help us recruit highly qualified, diverse candidates who exhibit the potential to move into future management positions at Group Health. It is also a way for Group Health to accelerate the career development of a promising student.

Goals of the Fellowship Program

The fellowship is a preceptor-directed program, which is designed to give you the opportunity to apply skills and knowledge obtained during graduate school while working in Group Health's integrated health care setting.

During the program, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Interact with Group Health's leadership teams
  • Develop and demonstrate leadership and management skills
  • Complete project assignments that will contribute to Group Health's success and enhance your skills in project development, strategic implementation, and operational management
  • Receive mentoring from members of our Executive Leadership Team
  • Receive career coaching/consultation and formal education and development

Fellowship Structure

The fellowship includes the following components:

  • A 14-month post-graduate residency reporting to Group Health President and CEO Scott Armstrong. The residency will consist of a two-month orientation rotation in the CEO's office, followed by a year working in Group Health's Group Practice, Finance, and Health Plan divisions. A preceptor is assigned for each of these areas.
  • Salary and benefits.
  • Relocation allowance or loan payment assistance, if applicable and approved.
  • An optional 10-month job assignment after the residency, in an area of the organization in which there is a business need and the fellow has an interest. The level of the position will be based on the fellow's qualifications and experience.

Eligibility

Group Health is actively seeking applicants who are members of groups that have historically been under-represented in health care management. To be eligible for the Group Health Administrative Fellowship, the candidate must:

  • Be eligible to work in the United States
