Listening to the individual is very important. I direct therapy or treatment to the individual, not just to the problem. My goals are to help to define, investigate, and clearly explain the issue at hand. I then outline the available alternatives, explai n the pros and cons of each altermative, make my recommendation, and work with the individual to arrive at the best possible decision.
