Resource Line
The Group Health Resource Line is a free information service available to all Group Health members. Staff provide up-to-date printed information about health topics as well as information about Group Health and community health resources. Whether you're looking for a parenting class, facts about diabetes, or ways to cope with depression or grief, the Resource Line can help direct you to helpful resources.
Staff are available weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can contact them by calling 206-326-2800 or toll-free at 1-800-992-2279 or e-mailing resource.l@ghc.org.
Health Education Information
Contact the Resource Line to receive pamphlets on topics such as quitting smoking, controlling your cholesterol, reducing stress, starting an exercise program, and lowering blood pressure.
To help you manage your health, the Resource Line also mails out a wide range of other printed material. These include record-keeping cards, reference lists, the Healthwise® Handbook an easy-to-use home health guide and the Healthwise Knowledgebase, an extensive online database containing in-depth health information. (Pamphlets in languages other than English are also available.)
Classes, Seminars, and Support Groups
You can receive information and support from health-related classes and support groups that are available in your community and at Group Health. See Classes & Events for a list of Group Health offerings. The Resource Line also can give you information about these as well as community agencies, such as the Arthritis Foundation, the American Lung Association, and the American Diabetes Association. Call the Resource Line to register for classes.
Support for Seniors
The Resource Line also helps to improve the quality of life for seniors and caregivers of elderly people by providing information on home care, transportation, adult day care, respite care, and other topics important to caregivers. Learn more about participating in Group Health's Senior Caucus.
