Team Mission
The team's mission is to promote women's health, fitness, and competitive spirit through bicycle racing. The team's long-term goal is to support women racers, emphasizing the development of new riders and building a strong, experienced senior team.

New members may join in the fall during the open-team roster. The team offers workshops with successful local and national racers on training, racing, and team tactics.

Team members are involved in community service, participating in charity rides, helping at the Friday races at the Group Health Velodrome, and volunteering with nonprofit organizations including Bike Works and Northwest Women's Cycling.

Team Successes
Over the past eight years, Team Group Health has built an extremely successful women's racing team, contributing to the growth of women's cycling in the Pacific Northwest. USA cycling named Team Group Health the "Women's Club of the Year" two seasons in a row.

In 2007, the team had 47 first-place finishes in road and 366 top-10 finishes in road; 20 top-10 finishes in track; 5 first-place finishes and 29 top-10 finishes in mountain biking, and 70 top-10 finishes in cyclocross. The team won 10 state championship victories and a national championship.

The group also has made significant contributions to Northwest cycling by attracting more women to the sport and developing new racers through race clinics and events.

Although Group Health sponsors the team, the women don't have to be Group Health members.

ADVICE FOR BEGINNERS
"Decide what kind of riding you prefer and then find a group to ride with. Above all else, cycling should be about having fun."
