Corporate and Foundation Gifts

Trammell Crow contributes to children's health through sponsorships, leadership, and family volunteerism

When October rolls around each year, it's time to get to the 10-mile Tour de Health finish line. The Tour de Health is the Trammell Crow Company's annual fitness-oriented fundraiser for the Group Health Community Foundation. Their 2006 effort raised more than $13,000, which was matched by Trammell's corporate office.

A vital relationship exists between Trammell Crow and Group Health. Since 1998, Trammell Crow has managed the day-to-day operations of Group Health's hospitals and medical office buildings in Washington. Trammell Crow staff in the Puget Sound area also serves Evergreen Hospital Medical Center and Swedish Hospital.

Beginning in 2007, Trammell Crow will join CB Richard Ellis, a global leader in real estate services, when the health care group which manages Group Health's facilities and construction projects becomes CB Richard Ellis Healthcare Solutions Group.

Trammell Crow was an early corporate sponsor of the Gift of Health Gala beginning in its first year, 2002. By 2003, Trammell's corporate giving increased and its staff began to do their own fundraising to support the Foundation's work in the community. Each year, Trammell Crow, through Area Director George Williams, donates significantly to the Foundation through the Gala and matched employee contributions.

In 2006, George and his wife, Laurie, accepted the roles of Gala Co-Chairs. The Williams also personally make gifts to the Foundation to support children's health. As parents themselves, the Williams have a personal connection to kids' health. Their daughter and three school mates from Bishop Blanchet High School were volunteers at the Gala.

"The Gala raises funds to transform health care for children and teens across Washington state, a mission we are proud to support," says George Williams. "Besides raising money, the Gala provides an occasion for the health care community across the region to come together to focus on the issues and concerns affecting public health."
