How to Give

The Group Health Foundation has a variety of ways for you to contribute, and donors have the option to designate their gifts to many departments and programs at Group Health. The Foundation also provides a general fund — Critical and Emergent Needs — which supports programs serving the broader community including the Childhood Immunization Initiative and the Partnership for Innovation. Donate Online

You can use our secure online donation form to make your one-time gift or set up a schedule of ongoing donations to join us as a sustaining donor. Your gift can be made in honor or memory of a friend or loved one. You may also choose to designate your gift to any one of our many fund options.

Give Through Payroll Deduction

Donate Automatically Each Month or Quarter

We call it the "easy gift option" because it's easy for you and for us. By authorizing an electronic funds transfer from a checking account or an ongoing credit card gift, you can budget your donation throughout the year and safely make your gifts hassle-free.

Gifts are transferred at the beginning of the month, and can be changed or suspended at any time with just a phone call. Each gift will appear on your monthly bank statement and you'll receive an annual summary of your gifts for tax purposes.

Make a Gift With Stock

Making a gift of stocks, bonds, or mutual funds can be a win-win situation: you bypass any capital gains taxes due if you've held them for a year, and you receive a charitable deduction for their fair market value. And it can be as easy as initiating a transfer with your broker.

The amount of your donation will be the median market value on the date of the gift. The legal gift date for certificates that are mailed is the postmark date on the envelope. For securities wired into our account, the legal gift date is the day they are received.

Double Your Gift Through Your Employer

Matching gifts: Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage staff to contribute. Most of these programs match your gifts dollar-for-dollar, and some will even triple your gift!

To find out if you are eligible, contact your company's personnel department. They will supply you with the form, which you fill out and mail to the Foundation.

Workplace giving: The Group Health Foundation participates in most of Washington's United Way campaigns and city, state, and federal employee giving campaigns. Even if we're not listed specifically, ask your campaign representative if you can write us in.
