Donors Invest $700,000 in Innovation

The Partnership for Innovation — a donor-supported initiative since 2008 — recently announced its 2012 grants to identify new ways to improve patient care while reducing cost and increasing patient satisfaction. Eleven new pilot projects were funded with nearly $700,000, bringing total donor investment to more than $2.8 million since the program's inception.

"Each one of these pilots represents an opportunity to solve a significant challenge in health care," said Laura Rehrmann, president of the Group Health Foundation. "What we learn from this work can benefit patients at Group Health and beyond."

Proposals for innovation grants are submitted by staff throughout the Group Health delivery system. Funding is awarded based on a proposed project's potential to improve care, reduce costs, and improve patient satisfaction. Funded pilot projects are evaluated by teams from the Group Health Research Institute.
