Evan's recent entries include "A Trip in the Van," "A Tree Can Be ...," "Yip! Yap!," and "A Funny Man." His parents have been reading to him since he was an infant and now he enjoys translating the printed symbols for himself. ALSO SEE: 'Reach Out and Read' Is a Donor-Designated Gift Fund and Group Health Pediatricians Prescribe Good Books Evan probably doesn't yet know the phrase "pay it forward" the understanding that a good deed will be repaid by passing it along to a third party but he knows how it works. At bedtime, Evan reads aloud to his 2-year-old brother. The Reach Out and Read program encourages reading aloud with young children.
