School-Based Health CentersGroup Health's Adolescent Center and the Group Health Foundation support school-based health centers. School-based health centers serve any student — with or without health insurance. For some young people, the teen health center is the sole source of health care or mental health care. Group Health operates school-based health centers in Seattle schools by providing health care and mental health care in four schools and mental health care in three schools. Over 1,850 students made 11,431 visits to the seven health centers in the 2009 school year. Group Health receives grant funds from Seattle's Families and Education Levy and provides in-kind resources to operate the health centers.
