Academic Scholarships for Group Health Members

Group Health Cooperative, in conjunction with the Group Health Foundation, offers two academic scholarships that are open to Group Health members and their dependents.

Group Health Cooperative Academic Scholarship

The Group Health Foundation, through funds raised by Cooperative volunteers, will award scholarships up to $3,000 each to students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees. The scholarship may be used for tuition, books, and fees for the 2013-2014 school year. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated financial need.

Eligibility

This scholarship is open to:

• Group Health voting members and their dependents
• Group Health staff and their dependents
• Group Health volunteers with 150 hours of documented service

All undergraduate fields of study at accredited institutions are eligible. Graduate programs must be clinically based and health care related.

Bernice Cohen Sachs, MD, Endowed Fund for Women Medical Students

The Bernice Cohen Sachs, MD, Endowed Fund for Women Medical Students will award scholarships up to $3,000 each to women enrolled in medical school. The scholarship may be used for tuition, books, and fees for the 2013-2014 school year. Applicants must demonstrate community involvement during undergraduate and/or medical school years.

Eligibility

This scholarship is open to:

• Group Health members
• Group Health members' children and grandchildren
• Group Health staff and their children

Applicants must be women pursuing a medical degree or equivalent degree at an accredited institution.
