Flu Vaccine Status

Flu Vaccine Status

Last updated: 9 a.m., Monday, Feb. 8

This is the current availability of seasonal and H1N1 flu vaccines at Group Health medical centers.

Seasonal and H1N1 Flu Vaccines

The H1N1 flu vaccine is available for both Group Health members and non-members 6 months of age or older. We have a very limited supply of seasonal vaccine. For both vaccines, not all medical centers have formulations for all ages. Please check the chart below for availability at each of our medical centers.

Note: FluMist cannot be given to children younger than 2 years, adults older than 49 years, pregnant women, or people with underlying health conditions.

Experts expect the H1N1 flu virus to continue to cause serious illness — even death — for the next several months. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone aged 6 months and older be vaccinated against H1N1 unless they are unable to take the vaccine due to a health condition. Group Health has received ample supplies of the H1N1 vaccine, which is available in our medical centers.

Children aged 9 and younger need two doses

Group Health experts are joining the CDC and the Office of the Surgeon General in reminding parents that children aged 9 years and younger need two doses of H1N1 vaccine at least 21 days apart to be protected. There is plenty of H1N1 flu vaccine available at Group Health medical centers and community locations. We urge parents to make sure their children receive the second dose of H1N1 vaccine. The first dose is a primer; the second is a booster.

Medical Center Drop-Ins

You are welcome to drop in for your vaccination at any of our medical centers during posted hours — no appointment is necessary. See below for drop-in hours and vaccine availability. If drop-in hours are not listed below, check our medical centers for Injection Room hours.

Before visiting our medical centers during drop-in hours, check the chart below to make sure that they have the type of the vaccine that you can receive. FluMist cannot be given to children younger than 2 years, adults older than 49 years, pregnant women, or people with underlying health conditions.

You may experience wait times during popular drop-in times, such as lunch time and after school. Please plan accordingly.

Cost of Vaccines

For Group Health members, there is no charge for the H1N1 vaccine. Charges for seasonal flu vaccine depend on the member's health plan. For some plans, deductibles and coinsurance may apply.

For non-members, there is a $22 charge for H1N1 vaccine. The non-member charge for seasonal vaccine is $28 for adults and $14.34 for children.

Note for members: If you get your flu vaccine at a non-Group Health location, you may need to pay for the vaccination and submit a claim for reimbursement (PDF).
