Supraventricular TachycardiaSupraventricular TachycardiaPreventionYou can reduce your risk of having
episodes of
supraventricular tachycardia by avoiding certain
stimulants or stressors, such as caffeine, nicotine, some medicines (for
example, decongestants), illegal drugs (stimulants, like methamphetamines and
cocaine), and excess alcohol. If fast
heart rates continue, long-term medicines may be used to
help prevent a recurrence of the fast heart rate. Medical Review: Rakesh K. Pai, MD, FACC - Cardiology, Electrophysiology John M. Miller, MD, FACC - Cardiology, Electrophysiology Last Updated: August 9, 2012 |
