Nursing Homes and Skilled Nursing Facilities

Most licensed nursing homes in Washington and Idaho provide both skilled nursing and custodial/residential care.

Group Health covers admission to an inpatient skilled nursing facility only when it is medically necessary and authorized in advance by Group Health. Group Health uses a network of contracted skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) to provide care when your stay is covered by Group Health Medicare Advantage or a Group Health commercial plan. Nursing homes that are contracted to provide skilled care to Group Health members are listed below with an asterisk (*).

Custodial or residential care is not covered by Group Health. However, at the nursing homes listed below, Group Health provides on-site care visits by nurse practitioners and doctors (called "rounding") to Group Health members. In the Puget Sound area, visits are usually provided by Group Health nurse practitioners and doctors. Outside the Puget Sound area, members receive visits from contracted physicians.
