CNN Features Group Health's Successful Care Model
April 29, 2010
CNN health correspondent Elizabeth Cohen recently spent two days at Group Health's Factoria Medical Center shadowing Eric Seaver, MD, and checking into Group Health as a place where experts have said that health care is being done right. The resulting story aired on CNN's "American Morning" on Thursday, April 29.
Dr. Seaver, who joined Group Health in 2006, brings an outside perspective, explaining how the patient-centered medical home, electronic medical records, e-mailing patients benefit him and his patients. He also talks about work-life balance with three children and bicycling to work.
CNN's coverage follows a recent commentary about the significance to health reform of Group Health's medical home model in the Journal of the American Medical Association. Additionally, the policy journal Health Affairs recently published an article about our electronic medical records system.
Group Health will be represented at a National Press Club forum with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in early May when Health Affairs unveils its special issue, "Reinventing Primary Care."
