J.D. Power Ranks Group Health Highest in Member Satisfaction
SEATTLE J.D. Power and Associates has ranked Group Health highest in member satisfaction in the Northwest region in fourth annual study of health plan performance.
J.D. Power and Associates 2010 U.S. Member Health Insurance Plan Study℠ measures satisfaction among members who purchase their coverage individually or through their employer from 133 health plans in 17 regions throughout the U.S. The study examines seven key factors: coverage and benefits; provider choice; information and communication; claims processing; statements; customer service; and approval processes.
Group Health ranked highest in the region, with a score of 744 on a 1,000-point scale. In the company's research in a variety of industries, J.D. Power and Associates' quality and satisfaction measurements are based on responses from millions of consumers annually.
"Providing outstanding care and creating personal relationships to help people engage in better health is at the heart of Group Health's work. We're proud of our achievement and our staff, who help us continuously improve our care and service. We look forward to providing our members and the communities we serve with this continued level of service," said Group Health President and CEO Scott Armstrong.
"The recent healthcare debate has demonstrated just how complicated the health insurance market can be," according to J.D. Power and Associates. "Health plans that focus on building relationships through member education, communication, and reliable, consistent delivery of health insurance products and services are the most successful in delivering a satisfying member experience which, in turn, may give them an edge in today's competitive environment."
