Endocrinology at Group Health Medical Centers

Your endocrine system affects your whole body: metabolism, energy levels, concentration, digestion, and more. The Group Health endocrinology team focuses on your whole body as well.

With our multidisciplinary focus and electronic medical records, our endocrinologists make sure you're getting the right care from other specialists, primary care doctors, labs, and pharmacy. For instance, a multidisciplinary team of specialists meets monthly to coordinate patient care in our Endocrine Surgery program.

Our endocrinologists treat many conditions, including diabetes, osteoporosis, nutrition issues, and disorders related to lipids (such as cholesterol), thyroid, and the female endocrine system. We offer minimally invasive surgery, as well as high-resolution ultrasound for thyroid cancer, ultrasound-guided biopsy, and nuclear imaging. Pediatric care may be referred to Seattle Children's Hospital or other pediatric endocrinologists.

No matter what the treatment, we believe in shared decision making. "Educating as well as treating patients," says Dr. Edward Benson. That way patients and providers focus on what's right for whole body health.
