Group Health HospitalistsGroup Health hospitalists are physicians who practice exclusively in the hospital setting, available to tend to our members 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They work closely with personal physicians, specialists, and hospital staff to ensure that you and your family get the best possible care. Hospitalists are able to evaluate a patient several times a day; meet regularly with family members; review labs on site; and make quick decisions about which medical procedures, tests, or other treatment options may be necessary. They excel at educating patients about their illness or injury. If you are hospitalized, it is likely a hospitalist will provide most of your care, rather than your personal physician. Unlike personal physicians, hospitalists typically do not have a medical practice and don't see members outside the hospital. This gives them much more time to spend with you while still maintaining a close working relationship with your personal physician.
