What is the Provider Directory?

The Provider Directory is a searchable directory of primary care physicians and specialists that shows which doctors are included in each of our health plans. Read short profiles of the doctors, and find their phone numbers, locations and, in some cases, driving directions. Group Health members who are registered and logged on to MyGroupHealth can also choose or change their personal physician by clicking on a link and submitting an online form.

How do I search?

Select health plan — required!

In order to search for a provider, you must first select a health plan. Unsure about which health plan to select? If you're already a Group Health member, check your benefits summary or your coverage agreement. Alternatively contact Customer Service. If you're considering joining Group Health, choose the health plan that you are considering or your employer is offering.

All the other search options in the Provider Directory are optional. However, the more information you enter, the more selective your search results will be. If you are looking for a particular kind of doctor (primary care doctor, specialist), select that button. If you want to find a doctor near your home or office, search by medical center or geographically.

Search by name

This is a fast way to search for a provider if you already know his or her name. Not sure about spelling? Enter the first few letters of either name, followed by the % symbol.

Search by medical center

Narrow your search by selecting a Group Health medical center, or typing in the name of another medical center of interest to you.

Search geographically

If you have a specific area in mind, type in the city and/or select a county.

Enter additional provider information

You can specify whether you want to search only for male or female doctors, doctors who speak a language in addition to English, doctors who provide maternity care, doctors who are currently accepting new patients, or doctors who are affiliated with a specific organization, company, or group

Choosing or changing your personal physician online

• You must be a Group Health member, registered and logged on to MyGroupHealth.
• Conduct your Provider Directory search using the guidelines above, and click the Search button.
• You will receive search results based on the search criteria you entered.
• To choose or change physicians, click the "make this doctor my personal physician" link near the doctor's name.
• You will then need to fill out an online form and click Send.
• You will receive an e-mail confirmation of your selection within three business days.

If you cannot find what you are looking for in the Provider Directory, contact Customer Service to find a doctor or to choose or change your personal physician. You also can send an e-mail to the Webmaster with questions or suggestions about the Provider Directory.
