WHY GROUP HEALTH? MEMBERS SAY IT BEST
Quick Attention for Blood Sugar Dip

Recently my husband, Norman, went to the dentist to have his teeth cleaned. When the cleaning was finished he was feeling lightheaded, and I was asked to come from the waiting area to assist him.
It was obvious to me that he had low blood sugar. I gave him two pieces of candy and he was able to walk to our car with his walker. I started for home to get him some lunch, but within a block I decided that he needed immediate attention. So I turned around and drove the few blocks to Group Health Rainier Medical Center.
I left Norman in the car and went inside to explain the situation to the receptionist. She was wonderful. She wrote down the facts and said she would get them to Dr. Kim Holland. The next thing I knew, a nurse named Stephanie Young met me in the lobby and accompanied me to the car. She tested Norm's blood sugar and gave him a tube of glucose. Then she got a wheelchair and took him inside.
The caring attention we received from Dr. Holland, Stephanie, and the injection staff was exceptional. We were able to return home with assurance that Norm's blood sugar level was back in a safe range, and with instructions to check it regularly for the next few hours.
The doctor sent a follow-up e-mail through MyGroupHealth, and the nurse called us to follow up. What's more, when we went back to the medical center two days later for a checkup, the receptionist asked how Norm was doing.
I can't say thank you enough for the support we received from the staff at Rainier Medical Center.
