WHY GROUP HEALTH? MEMBERS SAY IT BEST
Personal Doctor Helps Member
Face Brain Tumor

I've been a member of Group Health for many years and have always been very happy with the care I've received but have taken that care for granted at times.
When my primary care doctor, Suzanne Spencer, Factoria Medical Center, ordered a routine MRI in October, I learned that I have a brain tumor. Suddenly the care I have taken for granted became a lot more important to me.
The MRI and subsequent appointments with specialists Dr. Gunjan Tykodi and Dr. Kyle Kim were very thorough and reassuring. But it was the counseling appointment I had with Dr. Spencer that made this crisis bearable.
I can't say enough good things about Dr. Spencer. Over the years, I've always been impressed by her diagnostic skill, thoroughness, and compassion, but I was really grateful when she took time from her busy schedule to help put my current condition into perspective.
It was clear that Dr. Spencer understood my concerns she had clearly taken the time to review my test results so that she could help me understand them. I knew that I wasn't just a "case" but an actual human being to her. That was very reassuring. I particularly appreciated her taking the time to give me resources I could research to get further information.
What Does Group Health Mean To You?
Among the things I appreciate about Group Health is access to the best modern technology. Referral to treatment outside Group Health when appropriate. Inclusion of the patient in health-related decisions. Excellent resources available to patients enabling them to better understand their own care.
