WHY GROUP HEALTH? MEMBERS SAY IT BEST
Hospice Enhanced Husband's Care and Eased Family Stress

My husband passed away in 2007. He was receiving hospice care in an adult family home. I was unable to care for him the way Group Health's Hospice Program was able to do, so it was much better option for him.

Hospice enhanced the day-to-day care my husband received at the home. The bath aide was a tremendous help when he still was in assisted living. His last two months were in the adult family home, which was so much better than a nursing home.

Having a hospice nurse work with me, Dr. Huntington, and the adult family home provider meant that I no longer had to try to get him to Dr. Huntington (with the help of my grandson) nor put my husband through the stress of the trip. My husband died 15 days short of his 98th birthday.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Hospice. They were able to provide day-to-day care — like bath assistance and nursing care — that I could not.

I also cannot say enough good things about Dr. Huntington. He was great, and I continue to value him as my personal physician.

I'm extremely pleased with how well coordinated the services are at Group Health. I've been a member for 40 years and have an exercise class with a few people who are original members.
