WHY GROUP HEALTH? MEMBERS SAY IT BEST
Group Health Lessens Stress of Chronic Illness

My husband had surgery and radiation for islet cell carcinoma approximately 10 years ago. The same carcinoma has reoccurred. He is currently under the care of an oncologist. I have had multiple sclerosis for 20 years. My husband and I joke that between the two of us we are 100 percent healthy. Some days he feels better and helps me, and some days I feel better and help him. Our goal is to feel great on the same day.

Being a retired public health nurse, I have been more critical about my family's care at times — especially when I haven't felt well. Despite those times, I have always been treated with respect, excellent care and, most importantly, humor as a patient at Group Health.

Group Health has been my security. I can e-mail my doctors with questions so that I don't always have to be seen. Although health coverage and cost is a subject that is being widely debated across this country, my Group Health coverage has never been compromised and has only been improved. My husband and I feel blessed and thankful for Group Health every day. We both have chronic illnesses that would only worsen if we had to worry about our health care. Group Health takes away that stress and allows us to concentrate on living a wonderful life with each other and our children.
