Ligaments of the Knee: Lateral (Outside) ViewThis side view of the knee shows the lateral collateral ligament, one of the four ligaments of the knee. The four knee ligaments connect the upper leg bone (femur) with the large lower leg bone (tibia) and stabilize knee movement. The lateral collateral ligament helps stabilize side-to-side movement.
